This page explains the terms under which you use Giftler, and how we collect, use, and protect your information. It applies whether you're setting up an occasion for yourself, on behalf of someone else, or as a guest before creating an account.
By using Giftler, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Who We Are
Giftler is a relationship maintenance platform that automates gift curation, delivery, and reminders for birthdays, anniversaries, and festivals — for users in India and Indians living abroad (NRIs).

The Service
Giftler lets you add important people and occasions, set a budget and preferences, and have a curated gift delivered automatically — every year, without you needing to remember or place an order each time.
We work with third-party vendors and delivery partners to source and deliver gifts. While we curate carefully based on your preferences, exact products may vary by availability, city, and timeline.
Accounts & Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and make payments on Giftler. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials and OTP access secure.
You agree to provide accurate information — your name, phone number, and delivery details — so we can fulfil occasions correctly.
Payments & Refunds
Payments on Giftler are processed by Razorpay, a licensed payment aggregator regulated by the Reserve Bank of India. Giftler does not store your card, UPI, or bank details — these are handled entirely by Razorpay and its banking partners.
For Indian users, payments are collected via UPI auto-pay (e-mandate), charged automatically before each occasion. For users outside India, payments are collected via a secure payment link sent over WhatsApp, supporting international cards.
Currency & international payments
International payments are processed in INR and converted by Razorpay in compliance with RBI and FEMA regulations. Currency conversion, settlement, and related regulatory reporting are handled by Razorpay — Giftler does not directly process foreign exchange.
Refunds
If a gift cannot be delivered due to an error on our end, or if you cancel an occasion before it has been fulfilled, you may be eligible for a refund of the amount charged for that specific occasion. Our service fee may be non-refundable once a gift has been curated or dispatched. To request a refund, contact us via the details below.
Recipient & Third-Party Data
When you add an occasion for someone else — a parent, spouse, friend, or family member — you provide their name, relationship to you, preferences, and a delivery address or phone number on their behalf.
By submitting this information, you confirm that you have the right to share it with us for the purpose of gift delivery, and that you will use this feature respectfully and in line with that person's reasonable expectations of privacy.
Giftler does not independently verify consent from the recipient. If a recipient contacts us requesting their information be removed, we will act on that request and notify the account holder.
WhatsApp Communications
Giftler sends order confirmations, payment receipts, delivery updates, occasion reminders, and account-related notifications over WhatsApp, using your registered phone number. This is a core part of how the service works — Giftler cannot reliably notify you about your occasions without it.
By signing up and providing your phone number, you consent to receive these utility messages on WhatsApp. The exact consent text, along with the date, time, phone number, and source of consent (signup form or checkout), is recorded by Giftler at the time you create your account.
Marketing messages are separate
Birthday and anniversary reminders that are part of fulfilling your occasion are treated as utility messages. Promotional content — gift suggestions outside an active occasion, discount codes, or general offers — falls under a separate marketing consent, which you can opt into or out of independently. We do not send marketing messages unless you've separately agreed to receive them.
WhatsApp messages are delivered through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform via our messaging partner. You can opt out of any WhatsApp communication at any time by replying STOP or contacting us directly.
What We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Your name, phone number, and country (to create and manage your account)
- Payment-related metadata via Razorpay, such as transaction status and amount — we do not receive or store your card or bank details
- Occasion details you provide: recipient names, relationships, dates, preferences, and delivery addresses
- Communication consent records, including WhatsApp opt-in status and timestamps
- Basic usage data, such as pages visited and actions taken on the site, to improve the service
How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Curate, process, and deliver gifts for the occasions you set up
- Send order, payment, and delivery updates over WhatsApp and, where applicable, email
- Process payments securely through Razorpay
- Improve our gift curation, recommendations, and overall service
- Respond to support requests and resolve delivery issues
- Comply with legal and tax obligations
Data Retention
We retain your account and occasion data for as long as your account is active, so we can continue fulfilling recurring occasions. If you delete your account, we retain transaction records as required for tax and accounting purposes, and delete other personal data within a reasonable period.
Your Rights & Choices
You can, at any time:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information in your profile or occasions
- Withdraw WhatsApp consent by replying STOP or contacting us
- Request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to legal retention requirements
- Ask us to remove a recipient's information if you no longer wish to send them gifts through Giftler

Cancellation Policy
You can cancel a recurring occasion at any time from your dashboard. Cancelling stops future automatic charges and deliveries for that occasion. Orders already in progress — where a vendor has been assigned or a gift dispatched — cannot be cancelled.
For NRI payment-link orders, if you do not complete payment before the link expires, the order is automatically cancelled and no charge is made.
Liability
Giftler curates and coordinates gift delivery through third-party vendors and logistics partners. While we take care in selecting partners, we are not liable for delays, damages, or quality issues caused directly by a vendor or courier, beyond facilitating a resolution or refund where reasonable.
Giftler is not liable for any consequence arising from inaccurate information you provide about a recipient, including incorrect addresses or contact details.
Changes to This Policy
We may update these terms from time to time, particularly as we add new features or expand to new regions. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. Continued use of Giftler after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
